Musings Of Sourire d’Marie

Meaningful and Multilingual Storytelling of Faith, Travels, Classroom Teaching Chronicles and All Things in Between!

,

The Tribune

The weight of her village upon her shoulders

Shoulders of bronze, iron, steel, or copper?

Who knows? They seem to never falter

Her name on everyone’s  lips

Up, down and around she goes

Where the unconscious « you better »runs around

In her mind that never shuts down

The stress

The demands

 The standards

No is disrespect

And love has no borders

Mother, sister, daughter,

Counselor, translator, mentor

You name it, all at once

Slumber? no way

Invencible? impossible!

But the hidden tears

The years of wear and tear

The unseen fears

The veiled scars

The burnout

The facade

The imposter syndrome

Champion of the people, I see you

Champion of the people, I know you

Champion of the people, I salute you

You are brave, bold and beautiful!
